The first poetry slam tournament of its kind that blows past the boundaries set by current industry standards.  We bring you Slam Cup International (aka Slam Cup), a poetry slam competition organized like a sports league. Each season is a year long competition that culminates in a grand finale at the end of that year.

 

 

The Slam Cup competitions will be unmatched as the biggest individual poetry competitions in the world.The objective of this league is two-fold: First, to bring poetry and slam into the mainstream as a way of educating and inspiring humanity to reach for their greater selves.Second, to create an infrastructure that caters to the artistic and financial growth of poets and spoken word artists.

 

 

Through fierce competition and a focus on excellence, this league creates a platform where poets can truly thrive based on their craft, like any pop-culture celebrity that produces exceptional art or shows superior skill. Slam venues and countless vendors and industry players will gain financial success through the growth of this industry.  

 

 

To build the league, the year 2020 will be focused on producing promotional bouts around the country. 2021 will be the first official season of Slam Cup, starting in January and culminating with the grand finale (sometime between August and December). In its first year, total prize winnings will be $100,000; with $50,000 going to the grand prize winner alone.

 

Slam Cup will also support winners with attaining book deals, world-wide tours and appearances, sponsorships and endorsements.
